This piece is the Antechamber of the Pinacoteca, in it we can contemplate two singular pieces:

MODEL OF THE SCHOOL OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ANTIGUA

Made by José Luis Iglesias Fernández between 1990 and 1991, in wood. This model is not true to reality, it is an ideal reconstruction of what the Colegio de Nª Sª de la Antigua could have been. For example: the model has four cloisters when in reality there are only two built….

THE CARDINAL AND THE SCHOOLGIANS

Acrylic on board, painted in 2022 by Fr. Javier Agudo, Managing Director of the Foundation. A tribute to Cardinal Rodrigo de Castro, founder of the Royal College of Nª Sª de la Antigua, appears seated in the manner of Renaissance paintings. On a piece of paper, he holds his name and his cardinal’s coat of arms.
Three altar boys represent the children and young people for whom the school was founded, one of them presents a parchment book symbol of the great and ancient history of the school, with its shield. In the background, in addition to some brocade curtains, the school building can be seen through an arch: part of the monumental cloister, the dome, the towers, the view from the monumental cloister itself.
