Today, April 23, the waterproofing works of the dome of Our Lady of the Ancient have begun. The first phase consists of erecting a complicated scaffolding that will wrap the entirety of the dome, necessary for the waterproofing works.
Once consolidated in scaffolding, the removal of the old waterproofing mortars, which barely fulfilled their purpose and in some cases affected the aesthetics of the dome, will be carried out.
Subsequently and after the necessary stone analyses, the waterproof mortars that are created appropriate will be applied, as well as the change of window tiles.
